Tencent Holdings Ltd. has made a strategic investment in AwCloud, a Beijing-based Software as a Service (SaaS) start-up.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The two parties established a strategic partnership in July. AwCloud plans to launch integrated services with Tencent's platforms after the completion of this investment.
Founded in 2010, AwCloud focuses on providing OpenStack enterprise cloud services that help companies manage their private cloud platforms easily.
"AwCloud is striving to combine the OpenStack model with real demand in China to create an operating system of private cloud," says Zhang Zhengyu, CEO of AwCloud.
The company previously received US$10 million series B financing from Intel last year.
